Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information PlateScout processes while providing its independent registration-number discovery service. Last updated 5 October 2026.

Information we process

We process the account details you provide, such as your email address and name. When you use Google sign-in, we receive the basic profile information Google shares with your permission. Password accounts store a cryptographic password hash rather than the original password.

Service and purchase records

We retain the minimum records needed to operate account access, entitlements, support, security controls, and payments. Card and wallet details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by PlateScout.

Support messages

When you contact support, we process your reply email, subject, message, and any attachments you send by email to respond to your request. Messages are delivered through our email provider to the support team's inbox. Avoid including passwords, card details, or government-portal credentials.

How information is used

  • Authenticate accounts and protect restricted pages.
  • Provide purchased access and maintain transaction records.
  • Send verification, password-reset, and essential service messages.
  • Detect abuse, enforce rate limits, diagnose failures, and improve reliability.

Sharing and retention

Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate PlateScout, including hosting, database, authentication, email, and payment providers. Records are retained only for operational, security, contractual, and legal needs.

Independence

PlateScout is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by JPJ or mySIKAP. It does not ask for or store a user's government-portal password.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your PlateScout account information through the support channel on the Contact page, subject to records that must be retained for security, payment, or legal reasons.
